12-day China Family Joy Tour

Itinerary
Day 1 Arrival/Beijing
Upon your arrival at Beijing’s airport, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore the city on your own.

Day 2 Beijing
Meals: B, L
Places to visit: Tiananmen Square, The Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven
Special Optional Cultural Experience: A Peking (Beijing) Opera Performance
After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you. Then you will go to visit the Tiananmen Square. After you will be driven to visit the incredible Forbidden City, home to China’s Emperors for over 500 years. After lunch, you will be driven to the to visit the magnificent Temple of Heaven, which was where China’s Emperors prayed to heaven. You will then be driven to one of Beijing’s premiere, the Yuanhou Silk Factories, where you will learn about the history of Chinese silk and witness how it is turned, from a simple cocoon into shimmering fabric.
Optional: In the evening you will be mesmerized by a Peking (Beijing) Opera performance in Beijing’s famous Liyuan Theatre.
Note: The opera will have English and Japanese subtitles.

Day 3 Beijing
Meals: B, L
Places to visit:The Great Wall (Badaling Section), the Sacred Road
After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the majestic Great Wall (Badaling Section). After lunch next to the Great Wall you will be driven to visit the Sacred Road, the road leading to the tombs of the Ming Dynasty’s Emperors. After you will go to visit the Bona Jade Store. Here you will see more than thousand kinds of jade wares that can embody thousands of years of Chinese culture. Those gorgeous products are not only the ideal decorations for companies and houses, but also the best presents for your friends and relatives, such as necklace, ring, earring and pendant.

Day 4 Beijing/Xian                                                                                         Overnight Train
Meals: B, L
Places to visit: Summer Palace, Fragrant Hills
Today after have breakfast in your hotel you will be driven to the exquisite Summer Palace, where you will marvel at the opulence of this imperial summer getaway. In the afternoon you will go to visit the Fragrant Hills. Fragrant Hills Park is an imperial garden at the foot of the Western Mountains which is famous for the striking red leaves of maple trees in autumn season. On the Fragrant Hills you will get away from crowds and enjoy the good air. Here you can choose to take a cable car to the top of the mountain or hike up. In the evening you will then be driven to the train station to board your comfortable overnight train to Xian city.

Day 5 Xian
Meals: B, L
Places to visit: Terracotta Warriors, Xian’s Ancient City Wall
After you took off your train your local guide will meet you and take you to have breakfast. Then you will be driven to visit the incredible Terracotta Warriors. After lunch you will take a bicycle ride along the top of Xian’s Ancient City Wall to get a bird’s eye view of this amazing ancient city.
Note: If you do not feel like biking on the Ancient City Wall, an electric touring car will take you around.

Day 6 Xian/Chengdu
Meals: B, L
Places to visit: Shaanxi History Museum, Big Wild Goose Pagoda
After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Shaanxi History Museum to discover Xian’s amazing history. You will then be driven to the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Housed in a huge temple complex, the ancient pagoda was built to house Buddhist Sutras brought to China from India. After visiting the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Chengdu. Upon your arrival in Chengdu, your local guide will meet you and you will be driven to your hotel.

Day 7 Chengdu
Meals: B, L
Places to visit: the Grant Panda Breeding Research Base, Wenshu Temple, Wenshu Tea House
Special Cultural Experience: Meet China living treasure, the Giant Panda, firsthand
After having breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where you will get a chance to see China’s living treasures first hand and if you wish have your photo taken with a Giant Panda cub. You will then visit the ancient Wenshu Temple and spend some time in its Wenshu Tea House enjoying traditional Chinese tea and absorbing the local culture.
Note:Having your photo taken holding a Giant Panda cub has an extra fee which is not included on this itinerary’s price.

Day 8 Chengdu/Guilin
Meals: B, L
Places to visit: Jinli Old Street
After having breakfast in your hotel your local guide will meet you and take you to the Jinli Old Street. Here you will see ancient Chinese style architecture building but you also can see a lots of cafes and bars. On the Jinli Old Street you will mingle with the local and enjoy all kinds of local snacks. Also you will see the traditional Sichuan Embroidery (Shu Embroidery). It famous for its delicate, colorful and life like quality. After you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Guilin. After you arrive in Guilin your local tour guide will pick you at the exit of the airport and take you to your hotel for checking.

Day 9 Guilin/Yangshuo
Meals: B, L
Places to visit: Li River Cruise, West Street
After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to the Zhujiang Pier (40 minutes). There you will board your boat for your Li River Cruise from Guilin to Yangshuo. The scenery along the Li River is often referred to as the most beautiful under heaven. Upon docking in Yangshuo, your guide will escort you to your hotel. After checking in, you will be taken down Yangshuo’s famous West Street, known for its shops, bars, and eateries.

Day 10 Yangshuo/Shanghai
Meals: B, L
Places to visit: Biking through Yangshuo Countryside, Cooking Class
After have breakfast in your hotel you will cycle out to the countryside surrounding Yangshuo. You will be mesmerized by the beauty of the scenery and the ancient villages that dot the landscape. On the noon time you will bike to a restaurant on the countryside. Here you will make the lunch cooking yourself and enjoy your own cooking dishes. Then you will be driven to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Upon your arrival in Shanghai, your local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to relax, or explore this amazing cosmopolitan metropolis on your own.

Day 11 Shanghai
Meals: B, L
Places to visit: Shanghai Museum, The Bund, Nanjing Road, Yu Garden, Yuyuan Market
After breakfast in your hotel, your guide will meet you and you will be driven to visit the Shanghai Museum, arguably the best museum in China. You will then stroll down The Bund, and the nearby Nanjing Road, known as the number one shopping street in China. After visiting Nanjing Road, you will visit the ancient Yu Garden, which is the only surviving ancient garden in Shanghai. After visiting the garden you will be taken to the Yuyuan Market located outside the garden, where you will be amazed at the quality and quantity of beautiful items for sale. The Yuyuan Market is extremely popular with visitors and locals alike.

Day 12 Shanghai/Departure

On this, your last day in China, you will be free to step out into Shanghai for an adventure on your own before your guide escorts you to the airport for your flight home.

Transportation & Private Transfers:

Transportation cost covers all the domestic airfare of economy class with airport tax, train tickets between the cities as the itinerary specified.


Transfer between airports, railway station, hotels and scenic spots for sightseeing around the cities that are specified by the itinerary with private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.


Entrance Fees:

All entrance fees to the scenic spots listed in the itinerary. The final arrangement will be determined by private tour guides depends on the real-time local circumstances wheather are beyond the control of Access China Travel. We will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible.


Normal Meals:

All normal meals as the itinerary specified: B = breakfast, L = Lunch, D = dinner in local restaurant. Breakfasts are served in hotel, breakfasts have Chinese or Western style for your option; Lunches are served in carefully selected quality local Chinese restaurants with best service, your lunches will be ordered by your guide catering to your preferences within normal standard. Dinners as the itinerary specified will be also served in local Chinese restaurants. The meal quotation is normalized. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, famous rare dishes, Indian food or more, please inform us in advance. For the unspecified dinners, you will have dinner on your own. Feel free to ask your local guide for suggestions or recommendation.


Private Sightseeing Escort:

Normal sightseeing activities as the itinerary listed will be escorted with English-speaking guide. The English-speaking guide and driver in each city are with you throughout the entire itinerary around that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.


Hotel Accommodation:

Hotel service criterion: two adults share on one standard twin/double-bed room; solo traveler who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room assigned is required for extra single supplement rate. A single room is available on prior request at an additional cost; if a recommended hotel unavailable, it will be replaced by one of the same class. All hotels as the itinerary listed serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.

The tour cost includes the planning, handling, booking, operation and communication charges.
