Guangxi Fangchenggang's "Internet Plus" Index Ranks Second in China

Fangchenggang was named the second out of 351 cities listed by the "Internet Plus" Index. The other nine cities in the top 10 are Shenzhen and eight provincial capitals.

In a recent report Tencent Research Institute analyzed the development of "Internet Plus" according to the complete sample data collected by all Tencent products. The report showed that Fangchenggang, won the second place out of 351 Chinese cities, just behind Hangzhou.

"Internet Plus" is a new economic form, aiming to optimize the allocation of production factors by the Internet. It deeply integrates the innovative achievements of the Internet into all economic and social aspects and promotes the creativity and productivity of the real economy in order to make Internet an infrastructure and implementation tool in the economic development.

As a leading company in social networking, Tencent is one of China's largest Internet service providers and one of China's Internet enterprises with the most service users and widest business scope. Tencent's "Internet Plus" Index is based on the analysis and comparison of complete sample data collected by Tencent products from 351 cities with the data source in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and direct-controlled municipalities. The result of the report can predict the future development of "Internet Plus" and foresee the development tendency of macro economy and other of related industries.

As a typical port and border city, Fangchenggang plays an important role in communication with ASEAN countries. It contributes 70 percent of Guangxi's tariff revenues since it is has trade connections with 147 countries and regions. The good ranking is attributed to the increase of the city's competitiveness and the rapid development of its "Internet Plus".

All the cities in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region are on the list. The ranking is as follows: Nanning 21st, Guilin 36th, Liuzhou 64th, Beihai 75th, Yulin 152nd, Wuzhou 185th, Qinzhou 224th, Hezhou 229th, Guigang 242nd, Baise 248th, Hechi 255th, Laibin 290th and Chongzuo 351st.

According to industry resources, there is no doubt that "Internet Plus" not only provides a golden opportunity for the rapid development of Chinese enterprises, but also has an enormous influence on China's future economic development. The different phases of "Internet Plus" in different cities will impact both on customers' behavior and companies' decisions.
