"The Elderly in Guangxi" Camera Crew Visits Dahua

The camera crew of The Elderly in Guangxi recently visited centenarians in the Dahua Yao autonomous county in Hechi, Guangxi.

The full-length documentary was sponsored by the Guangxi Party Committee Publicity Department and Guangxi Tourism Development Committee, and co-produced by CCTV-4, Guangxi TV and the Guangxi Travel Channel on CNTV.

At present, China has a total of 54 longevity villages, 19 of which are in Guangxi, accounting for 31 percent of all. Hechi’s four counties and one city, namely, Bama, Donglan, Fengshan and Yizhou, have won the title. Dahua’s application for recognition as a longevity village is in smooth progress and has been approved by the expert group of the National Working Commission on Aging.

The documentary series is divided into five parts, with each lasting 30 minutes. The debut will be on CCTV-4 in June. The documentary will explain the phenomenon of longevity in Guangxi with a view of a Chinese and examine its causes in historic culture, human geography, ecology and other areas. It will provide the world an opportunity to know the living conditions of people in Guangxi and establish a good image of Guangxi.
